About The Position

As a Field Technician I, you will play a critical role in supporting network operations and delivering exceptional service to customers across your assigned coverage area. This is an entry-level opportunity designed for individuals with a strong work ethic, customer-focused mindset, and a desire to build a long-term career in telecommunications and network operations. You will work alongside experienced technicians, and gain hands-on experience supporting network infrastructure, customer installations, and operational activities.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel within the assigned service area
Strong customer service and communication skills
Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and a strong work ethic
Ability to learn technical concepts and apply training in a field environment
Comfortable working independently after completing training
Ability to perform hands-on work in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments
Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment

Nice To Haves

Experience in cable, telecommunications, field service, installation, utility, or technical support roles
Experience with network equipment, cabling, testing, or troubleshooting activities
Background working for telecommunications, broadband, or cable organizations
Experience providing customer-facing support in retail, service, or field environments
Must be comfortable working outdoors in all seasons and weather conditions, including exposure to heat, cold, rain, wind, and other environmental elements while performing field-based responsibilities
Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand tools and related equipment
Knowledge of outside plant (OSP), telecom infrastructure, or network operations
Proven record of job stability and long-term employment tenure
Desire to grow within a technical career path and advance into future technician roles

Responsibilities

Support network builds, installations, and maintenance activities across assigned service areas
Perform customer-premise equipment installations, activation, and testing
Assist with cable installation, troubleshooting, and circuit turn-up activities
Conduct site inspections and support battery maintenance programs
Coordinate vendor and site access requirements as needed
Respond to operational needs and travel between customer and network locations
Maintain accurate documentation and follow established safety and operational procedures
Participate in training, knowledge-sharing activities, and future on-call rotations following completion of onboarding
