The Field Operations Technician I MIN is responsible for collecting samples, observation, and/or inspection of products or raw materials for laboratory analysis by performing the following duties. This role works under immediate supervision to perform job functions. The technician will collect samples of products and raw materials during transfers to containers, vessels, barges, trucks, and/or rail. They will ensure all sample containers and paperwork are properly labeled with identifying data, location, date, and time of collection, and then deliver the samples to the laboratory for analysis. Responsibilities also include sample preparation, reduction, and division into appropriate sizes, as well as gathering samples at specified locations, states of processing, and time intervals. The role involves performing sample screening and/or other related physical tests, and ensuring all equipment and containers are organized and cleaned before and after use. Adherence to safety procedures, including wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE) and complying with local and federal safety processes, is critical. Depending on business needs, the technician may also be required to assist with Preparation or Laboratory responsibilities. The employee must adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures and perform other duties as assigned.
