About The Position

Intertek is seeking a Part-Time Entry Level Field Technician I to join their Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team at their Plymouth, MI office. This role offers an opportunity to build a career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US-based provider of construction assurance, testing, and inspection in civil and commercial construction, offering services such as construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The Entry Level Field Technician I will perform various testing, project-specific observations, and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or detailed controlled procedures.

Requirements

Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or equivalent
6 months of construction related experience
ACI Certification

Responsibilities

Operate testing equipment and conduct testing (example: Soil, concrete or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting
Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams
Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and give limited interpretation of results
Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results
