About The Position

Field Technician I Company Overview: Harness Energy is a leading provider of wind and solar field services. We do this by installing and maintaining equipment that wind and solar energy developers depend on for their feasibility studies and operations. We are looking for a new member to join our solution orientated MET and RSU team in the renewable energy industry. Job Summary: As a Field Technician I, you’ll be a key part of a dynamic team responsible for constructing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and dismantling wind and solar equipment across diverse U.S. locations. This is a unique, travel-intensive position, perfect for those who enjoy hands-on work in the outdoors and are energized by new environments and challenges. Working side-by-side with skilled team members, you’ll spend 1-2 weeks at a time in the field, staying in hotels and tackling various weather conditions. This role provides the opportunity to explore different regions of the country, contribute to our mission of renewable energy, and be part of a supportive and safety-focused crew.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Must be able to perform manual labor safely
  • Ability to stand on your feet up to 12 hours a day
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical tasks at various sites to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and decommission meteorological towers or remote sensing units.
  • Complete daily safety documentation (Job Hazard Analysis) to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the manager through Slack for daily updates and coordination.
  • Log hours daily for DOT compliance and accurately track time in ADP for timecards.
  • Drive and operate DOT-certified trucks and trailers safely in the field.
  • Clean, maintain, and inventory tools and equipment.
  • Travel frequently to project sites for extended stays (1-2 weeks).
  • Build knowledge of tower operations under the guidance of a lead technician.
  • Safely operate heavy machinery and use hand and power tools.
  • Participate in project planning with team input.
  • Act professionally across diverse sites, including remote and construction areas.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
