Field Technician -Geotechnical Engineer
About The Position
Partner Engineering and Science, Inc. is seeking a Geotechnical Engineering Technician in Houston, TX to support our geotechnical engineering practice. The ideal candidate for this dynamic and challenging role will be responsible for performing field and laboratory sampling and testing, observing and testing for earthwork and concrete construction, driving to and from project sites, transporting equipment and samples, operating nuclear density gauge and other field equipment, sampling of wet concrete and preparing specimens, preparing field inspection reports on laptop, reading construction drawings and plotting test locations on drawings, photographing site conditions, assisting the project management team with geologic research, preparing site plans and other report exhibits, assisting with report and proposal preparation, and daily communication with project managers, contractors, and/or clients.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience with field inspection, and material testing for soils and concrete
- Driver’s License in good standing, properly insured, capable of driving
Nice To Haves
- Geology or Engineering degree is a BIG PLUS
- EIT, GIT, ACI, ICC certifications preferred
