About The Position

The main responsibility will be to repair Generator and Industrial engines (i.e. Irrigation engines, grinders, etc.) and repair electrical power systems to the customer’s satisfaction in the shop and/or field. This is a position for an experienced mechanic who is able to remove, install, repair, disassemble, assemble, and perform failure analyses of CAT and non-CAT equipment including engines and electrical systems.

  • Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems
  • Read schematics
  • Utilize CAT software (STW, SIS, ET)
  • Follow all procedural and safety standards, including HAZMAT and contamination control

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for on-site power generation systems, including troubleshooting and problem resolution
  • Install, service, and repair generators, UPS, switchgear, ATS, and related equipment; ensure proper system integration during start-up
  • Perform diagnostics, interpret test results, and determine repair scope independently
  • Conduct scheduled maintenance and mechanical/electrical repairs on engines, generators, controls, and auxiliary systems
  • Troubleshoot AC/DC electrical systems, read schematics, and repair motors, relays, and generator components
  • Complete repairs accurately and within time guidelines; address warranty and service letter issues promptly
  • Utilize CAT software (STW, SIS, ET) and follow all procedural and safety standards, including HAZMAT and contamination control
  • Order parts, evaluate failures, and maintain accurate service reports and documentation
  • Communicate repair plans and status updates to customers; provide training and guidance to technicians as needed
  • Perform minor and major engine overhauls in the field; operate equipment to verify repairs
  • Maintain tools, attend safety meetings, and participate in ongoing training to stay current on equipment and practices
  • Promote company values and professionalism; perform additional duties as assigned
