Requirements

  • Two years of Construction Materials Testing experience required
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician - Level 1
  • Nuclear Density Experience
  • Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
  • Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance
  • Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound
  • Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
  • Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures
  • Ability to climb occasionally, and work at various heights
  • Ability to work over night hours and off shift

Responsibilities

  • Performing a variety of testing, project specific observations and site assessment duties under general supervision and/or from detailed controlled procedures.
  • Operating testing equipment and performing laboratory and field testing of soil, concrete, and other construction materials while accurately evaluating and reporting test data.
  • Utilizing construction drawings, specifications, plans, and diagrams to support testing and inspection activities and ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Following established testing methods and procedures to conduct detailed observations of site activities, document findings, and provide limited interpretation of results.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed records of testing activities, observations, and data collected throughout the course of each project.
