About The Position

Remote field technician for L3Harris (Field Services Division) supporting multiple programs/systems for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) who can perform installation and maintenance on a variety of Networking and Telecommunication equipment at customer locations. The position requires daily commuting to and from customer remote locations (indoor & outdoor) within your assigned area. Remote field technicians must be able to work independently with little supervision and possess good written/verbale communication skills.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 6 years of prior relevant experience or 2 years post-Secondary/Associates Degree with a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance.
  • Possess and maintain a valid Driver’s License, and a satisfactory driving record, as conditions of initial (and continued) employment.

  • Must have the ability to obtain and maintain active DOD Secret Clearance

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for each specific program/system (FTI, MS, ADS-B, DCNS, WMSS and others) L3Harris supports for the FAA.
  • Install, repair, configure, test and complete preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment at the customers’ remote locations.
  • Able to work remotely in a scheduled and on-call capacity to various customer locations within your assigned area.
  • Occasionally travelling to remote sites outside your assigned area may be needed from time to time to assist with the FAA customer needs and/or requests.
  • Willing to travel (up to 100% of the time) to remote sites within a 3 hour drive circle of base location.
  • Technicians may be asked to travel outside of their assigned region, as needed.
  • Able to read/understand/follow equipment drawings and task orders.
  • Possess good admin skills (taking notes and documenting what transpired while working at the customer location).
  • Work directly with the NOCC, the SAC, and the Helpdesk over the phone on resolving issues in the field.
  • Maintain tools, test equipment, parts/electronics, truck stock inventory and personal or company vehicle.
  • Be proactive and prepared for assigned tasks prior to dispatching.
  • Able to work outside regularly scheduled hours (on-call) when/if needed to meet customer’s needs.
  • Lift items up to 32 lbs. and use ladders and step stools to reach heights of approximately 10ft.
  • Work with your supervisor (ASL) to ensure all L3Harris policies/procedures and program specific policies/procedures are followed.
