The position offers construction engineering and technical support for the Electrical discipline.

Requirements

  • Accredited four (4) year degree or global equivalent in applicable field of study and two to twelve (2-12) years of work-related experience or a combination of education and directly related experience equal to sixteen (6-16) years if non-degreed.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
  • Job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the job.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge of applicable local, state/province, and federal/national statutes and guidelines.
  • Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.

Responsibilities

  • Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed.
  • Adhere to and support Fluor's Health, Safety & Environmental and Sustainability Policies.
  • Remain knowledgeable of requirements for applicable codes and client standards on the project.
  • Receive and distribute project design documents, often supervising the field engineering office.
  • Manage site survey and direct their daily activities.
  • Assist craftsmen, foremen, and project supervision with regard to construction-related issues identified on drawings.
  • Perform surveillance/inspections, as required by site quality manual, to ensure that the Design / Quality objectives are being met for the project.
  • Review and approve Construction Contractor technical submittals.
  • Perform constructability assignments in the office, as required.
  • Help coordinate system completion and system turnover with regard to start up activities for assigned systems.
  • Provide technical interpretation of design documents in support of construction managers, superintendents, and contractors and provides specific expertise for problem solving activities.
  • Prepare material take-offs as well as initiate and prepare requisitions for the procurement of services, materials, and equipment necessary to support the project schedule for all field initiated changes and material shorts.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication between the company and the design engineer to ensure the timely flow of design documents and information.
  • Maintain liaison with the company’s technical and construction support departments to provide the technical and construction engineering expertise required to support the project.
  • Respond to RFI’s and Coordinate with Engineering office for changes which require change to design intent.
  • Coordinate the preparation and revision of technical work procedures consistent with project design and construction requirements.
  • Certify general contractor prepared red-line drawings and information required for the preparation of as-built drawings.
  • Maintain compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and global standards.
  • Support Quality on NCR disposition and closure.
  • Assist contracts to develop WER for work release to Contractors.
  • Maintain red line model of all existing and new underground utilities.
  • Issue underground ground disturbance permit request with all existing utilities clearly marked.
  • Coordinate with Survey to mark the underground utilities within the permit limit.
  • Field walk the underground ground disturbance permit with construction superintendent responsible for the work.
  • Close out underground ground disturbance permit once red lines have been incorporated in the DOW program level.
  • Manage interface with DOW Job Rep.
