About The Position

Field technicians install fixed wireless internet service in residential and commercial buildings. Additionally, they are dispatched to address service calls as they arise, switch out equipment when new upgrades are available, as well as disconnect equipment when necessary. Field technicians are the face of the company and so they are personable and have great face-to-face customer service skills. Field technicians think outside-the-box when problem-solving and are able to find multiple solutions to a single problem. Many technicians develop specialties and certifications in certain areas, such as relays, telescopic pole installs, or business installs. Our field staff are the core of operations for the entire company.

Requirements

• Have a high school diploma.
• Maintain a clean, courteous and professional demeanor.
• Be physically able to lift and move up to 75 pounds.
• Be physically able to climb ladders to rooftops while carrying tools & equipment.
• Be physically able to work outside during all types of weather conditions.
• Have mechanical experience including the use of hand tools, cordless drill, saw, socket set and crimpers.
• Have a basic knowledge of computers, routers, and switches
• Have a basic understanding of networking and internet addressing.
• Have a valid state driver's license and a clean driving or safety record.
• Meet 275lbs weight limit due to safety restrictions.
• Be able to work independently & efficiently to meet deadlines.
• Satisfactory results from a background/employment history investigation and drug screening.
• Mandatory 90-day probation period for all new employees.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of technical training is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Driving to multiple locations daily.
• Gaining access to the customer's roof with a ladder.
• Using the provided equipment to test for adequate signal strength.
• Troubleshoot problems with equipment, cable, power, computers, TVs, tablets, routers, and networking.
• If the signal is adequate, use various tools to mount equipment on the customer's roof, then run a cable from the roof to a desired location inside the building.
