Performs routine service work and related duties on the company's gas and electric systems. This role involves installing, removing, reading, and replacing gas and single-phase electric meters, as well as connecting/disconnecting them. The position also includes periodic change-outs of meters, checking installations for compliance with rules and codes, and testing/adjusting/replacing residential/small commercial gas regulators. The Field Tech will investigate and resolve customer service problems, respond to gas leaks and carbon monoxide calls, and repair gas leaks on the company's side of the meter. Additional duties include relighting gas pilots, installing gas piping, assisting in emergencies, conducting periodic gas system inspections, performing building maintenance, and installing/removing controls and recording instruments. The role also involves assisting with training, keeping accurate records, generating reports, and locating underground utilities.
