The Field System Manager role is responsible for the maintenance and technical support of a large-scale LMR (Land Mobile Radio) system, specifically at the Marine Corps Air Ground Combat Center Twentynine Palms. This position requires a blend of IT System Administration experience and specialized knowledge of Motorola ASTRO 25 systems. The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with minimal travel (under 10%). Occasional support during off-hours for critical events may be required. The role involves serving as the primary support for LMR Zone Core equipment, managing system maintenance and patching, ensuring data backups, and providing first-level troubleshooting and case management. Specialized technical assistance is needed for Motorola ASTRO 25 LMR systems, including P25 technology, encryption, capacity management, OTAR, dispatch consoles, subscriber radios, fleet-mapping, and database operations. The position also entails maintaining, programming, optimizing, troubleshooting, and repairing radio repeaters and dispatch/communications consoles. Additionally, the Field System Manager will assist with system integrations, track hardware changes, provide administrative reports, and perform other tasks as assigned by management. The role demands a deep understanding of Motorola Solutions P25 Trunking Network Systems, radio systems, RF theory, and proficiency with hardware and software tools for RF and networking equipment. Candidates must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, strong self-management abilities, and the capacity to solve problems effectively, especially in stressful situations. U.S. citizenship is mandatory, and the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance is a condition of employment. A valid driver's license is also required.
