Requirements

• Significant experience in a field surveying, loss adjusting or property claims role within the insurance industry
• Strong knowledge of domestic building construction, repair methods and building pathology
• Proven ability to quantify losses, control claim spend and manage claims up to £150k
• Experience handling complex property claims, including escape of water, flood, impact and fire damage
• Experience using industry-standard estimating and claims management systems
• Excellent customer service and negotiation skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions clearly and empathetically

Responsibilities

• Managing domestic property claims up to £150k under delegated authority, applying sound indemnity principles and technical judgement
• Visiting customers' homes to assess damage, validate claims, scope repairs, agree settlement outcomes and support claims through to resolution
• Quantifying losses, setting and managing accurate reserves and maintaining high-quality claim records and documentation
• Collaborating with customers, contractors, suppliers, loss adjusters and internal stakeholders to deliver fair and timely claim outcomes
• Using estimating and scoping software to definite repair requirements, validate costs and support settlement decisions
• Providing technical support and guidance on complex property claims across the wider claims operation
