Field Support Specialist (SURVEY TECH)
About The Position
Independently perform construction layout, topographic surveys, as-built surveys, and other field survey activities. Operate and troubleshoot GNSS/GPS receivers, robotic total stations, digital levels, data collectors, and other survey equipment. Establish, verify, and maintain project control and benchmarks. Perform construction layout using engineering drawings, coordinates, alignments, grades, and elevations. Review field data and perform quality checks to verify survey accuracy and completeness. Perform survey calculations and resolve routine field surveying issues. Read and interpret construction plans, engineering drawings, and survey documents. Coordinate daily field activities with survey leadership, engineering, and construction personnel. Provide guidance and training to Survey Technician I and II personnel. Assist with equipment management, field procedures, and survey quality control. Identify and communicate potential survey or layout issues to survey leadership. Follow all company and project safety requirements. Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proficiency in operating and troubleshooting GNSS/GPS receivers, robotic total stations, digital levels, data collectors, and other survey equipment.
- Ability to establish, verify, and maintain project control and benchmarks.
- Skill in performing construction layout using engineering drawings, coordinates, alignments, grades, and elevations.
- Capability to review field data and perform quality checks for accuracy and completeness.
- Competence in performing survey calculations and resolving routine field surveying issues.
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans, engineering drawings, and survey documents.
- Strong coordination skills for daily field activities with survey leadership, engineering, and construction personnel.
- Ability to provide guidance and training to Survey Technician I and II personnel.
- Experience with equipment management, field procedures, and survey quality control.
- Skill in identifying and communicating potential survey or layout issues to survey leadership.
- Adherence to all company and project safety requirements.
