Field Supervisors on the National Survey on Drug Use and Health (NSDUH) study are responsible for supervising and supporting a team of field staff who will conduct in-person data collection. This role involves recruiting, hiring, and retaining staff, preparing and adjusting work assignments for cost-effective field implementation, and ensuring adherence to project schedules and performance requirements. The supervisor will review production, time, and expense reports, provide feedback to research associates, and work with staff to identify and solve challenges. They must meet performance expectations in efficiency, quality, screening, and interviewing completion rates while maintaining confidentiality. The position requires participation in weekly conference calls with project management and assigned staff, serving as a liaison between RTI project management and the field team, and providing immediate feedback and ongoing training. Field Supervisors will use a project-provided laptop and secure RTI email for communication and administrative tasks, maintain good communication with staff, and be accessible to provide support. They will also submit timely and accurate Time & Expense reports, conduct in-person field observations when required, and be available for overnight travel (4 trips per year, up to 1 week per trip).
