About The Position

Reporting to the Manager, Customer Service Office, this position provides direction and guidance to the adjusting team. It involves providing training and leadership to adjusting staff on SCIC programs, initiatives, and customer service techniques. The role includes daily coaching, monitoring work assigned to adjusting staff, and reviewing/approving time and expenses. The Field Supervisor ensures the accuracy and completeness of inspections and corresponding documentation, performs all types of claims/inspections, and becomes directly involved in fieldwork dealing with dissatisfied customers or problem situations. Additionally, the position conducts field training, ensures staff awareness of policy and procedure changes, assists the Manager with recruitment and selection, and completes/conducts performance evaluations for adjusting staff. The role also requires attending meetings and training sessions to stay updated on corporate and agricultural changes, and participating as a member of the sales team for the annual sale of the Crop Insurance program.

Requirements

  • A two-year post-secondary diploma in Agriculture or Business Administration, supplemented with three years related experience in the agriculture industry OR a one year post-secondary certificate specializing in Agriculture with five years related experience in the agriculture industry.
  • Working knowledge of emerging trends in agriculture and modern farming practices/crops in Saskatchewan, with the ability to identify crop disease, insect damage and other causes of loss.
  • Proven leadership experience, demonstrated through effective performance management, supervising, leading and/or coaching.
  • Analytical skills with ability to assess claims objectively and exercise sound judgement to resolve issues that arise through policy/procedure application or interpretation.
  • Communication skills, able to conduct presentations to varying audiences; generate documents including reports, research papers and document results for claims investigation.
  • Customer focused with the ability to gather information, respond to inquiries and work with customers in a professional manner.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and a suitable vehicle to carry out responsibilities.
  • This is a safety sensitive position, with requirements that include but are not limited to working in inclement weather conditions; and exposure to scenarios with predators. Good physical condition required, with the ability to walk long distances for field measurements, claims investigation and measuring grain bins.
  • Required to travel throughout the province and work weekends when necessary.
  • Candidates selected for this position must provide proof of their educational qualifications. As part of our recruitment process, education credentials will be verified through an external background check provider.
  • Should the successful candidate participate in the Crop Insurance or AgriStability Programs, their account must be in good standing.
  • A criminal record check is required.
