About The Position

Jackson’s Realty & Builders (JRB), a division of Turtle Creek Management (TCM), is seeking an experienced, hands-on Field Superintendent to lead ground-up and renovation projects throughout Indianapolis and surrounding communities. This role is ideal for a superintendent with strong wood-frame construction experience who can confidently lead all field operations on predominantly single-story, and occasionally two-story, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, senior living, and related healthcare projects. The Field Superintendent will serve as the day-to-day field leader responsible for safely delivering high-quality projects on schedule, coordinating all trades, driving accountability, and resolving problems before they affect budget, schedule, quality, or facility operations. Periodic travel within Indiana may be required based on project needs.

Requirements

  • Five or more years of experience as a Construction Superintendent, Field Superintendent, Lead Carpenter, or similar field leadership role.
  • Strong experience managing commercial, senior living, healthcare, multifamily, hospitality, or light commercial construction projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of wood-frame and stick-built construction, including foundations, framing, building envelope, roofing, interiors, and finish work.
  • Working knowledge of site development, excavation, utilities, concrete, and civil coordination.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, shop drawings, and technical documents.
  • Proven ability to lead subcontractors, maintain accountability, and create a productive, professional jobsite culture.
  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing, scheduling, site logistics, quality control, and safety management.
  • Comfort using smartphones, tablets, email, project-management software, digital plans, and photo documentation tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, planning, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating closely with Project Managers and company leadership.
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel within Indiana as project needs require.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, healthcare, or occupied-facility construction is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all on-site construction activities from mobilization through final completion.
  • Oversee ground-up construction, site work, demolition, excavation, utilities, grading, concrete, foundations, framing, roofing, exterior finishes, drywall, insulation, interior finishes, and project closeout.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, utility providers, consultants, and internal project team members.
  • Develop and maintain short-term look-ahead schedules, manage trade sequencing, and keep work progressing efficiently.
  • Review drawings, specifications, submittals, and project documents to identify constructability concerns, scope gaps, and field conflicts early.
  • Ensure work is completed in accordance with approved plans, specifications, applicable building codes, fire and life-safety requirements, and company quality standards.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, organized jobsite and enforce OSHA requirements and company safety expectations.
  • Lead daily site coordination, subcontractor meetings, safety meetings, and quality-control walkthroughs.
  • Track material deliveries, equipment needs, manpower, field productivity, inspections, and punch-list progress.
  • Coordinate and prepare for applicable municipal, building, health department, fire marshal, and life-safety inspections.
  • Identify field conditions, scope gaps, and potential change-order items; communicate issues promptly to the Project Manager.
  • Maintain accurate daily reports, photos, field documentation, inspection records, and project communications.
  • Lead punch-list completion, commissioning coordination, turnover activities, and final project closeout.
  • Represent JRB and TCM professionally with subcontractors, consultants, ownership teams, facility personnel, and local authorities.
