About The Position

Join Schindler as a Field Superintendent - Service and play a crucial role in overseeing the servicing, maintenance, and repair of assigned elevator and escalator units. This position is key to ensuring customer and company standards for quality, safety, and cost management are met, while supporting area objectives through effective project oversight and employee management. You will be instrumental in building a safe and effective team environment, coordinating operations, and collaborating with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure exceptional service delivery and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of technical leadership experience or elevator industry experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience in the elevator industry or related field.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive employee relations issues.
  • Proven leadership skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
  • Flexibility to be on call as needed.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze situations, identify solutions, and drive resolution.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Build a safe and effective team environment by leading field technicians to ensure maintenance meets quality standards and contract requirements.
  • Coordinate routes, scheduling, parts ordering, and payroll verification while maintaining profitability.
  • Partner with Area and Territory Operations Managers in implementing company and industry best practices to achieve service financial and delivery metrics.
  • Perform regular site inspections to deliver exceptional service, maintenance, warranty, and repair offerings.
  • Conduct Field Safety Audits at required intervals to ensure technicians understand and follow safe work practices.
  • Educate technicians on processes, tools, and standards through training and performance programs, continuously improving service delivery.
  • Manage logistics and implement preventive maintenance strategies, including scheduling quarterly customer site visits.
  • Collaborate with the local sales team to estimate service orders and maintain relationships with local IUEC business agents, communicating effectively to resolve disputes.
  • Partner with New Installation and Modernization Project Managers during contract conversions to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Act as a liaison between internal stakeholders and customers to investigate, resolve, and address operational challenges that may arise.
