Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred OR 3 years of technical experience in the elevator industry or related field.
  • Computer proficiency required.
  • Must have ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in installation and service of elevators/escalators preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience with a unionized workforce is preferred.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office suite software, Lotus Notes and SAP is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Managing field technicians in the day-to-day operations of elevator modernization projects, including hydraulic, gearless, and geared equipment.
  • Active participation in field surveys for prospective modernization projects.
  • Supporting the preparation of modernization proposals and bids.
  • Define project scope, determine manpower requirements, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
  • Identify and order appropriate elevator equipment and parts for each project.
  • Build a strong team environment by leading and supporting field technicians.
  • Manage the training and development of technicians on established processes, tools, and standards.
  • Foster clear communication across the team while maintaining strong working relationships with the local union.
  • Ensure all modernization projects meet company quality and safety standards, as well as contract requirements.
  • Monitor project progress and drive efficiency in execution.
  • Implement customer and company requirements related to quality, performance reliability, and passenger safety.
  • Support the sales team in estimating modernization bids and assist with investigating and resolving customer concerns.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork and commitment to quality across the workforce.
  • Participate in company professional development programs to strengthen knowledge of products, services, and processes.
