About The Position

This role is an entry-level position in gas turbine field service, designed as a pathway into the world of gas turbines. The Field Specialist – Junior Mechanic Nova LT Turbines will work under direct supervision during on-the-job training, receiving and following specific, detailed instructions. The candidate will learn and assist other crew members during Installation and/or Maintenance activities at Customer Sites. The primary responsibility is to learn and execute maintenance/installation of TPS rotating equipment and assist other crew members in performing their assigned scope of work. Interaction will primarily be with the assigned MENTOR or direct supervisor and other specialists/supervisors in the group. All responsibilities must be executed safely and as instructed, following all IET Gas Technology Service applicable processes and procedures. The role also includes performing other related duties as required and conducting all business activities in accordance with Baker Hughes HSE policies, Legal Compliance requirements, and Baker Hughes Core Values.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college, preferably in mechanical and electrical engineering, or 1 - 2 years of experience in the field of service or installation position in the Rotating Equipment industry
  • Ability to understand and implement technical drawings (Mechanical drawings, P&ID, Instrumentation, etc.)
  • Strong Mechanic and Control attitude
  • Excellent English fluency, both spoken and written
  • Willingness and availability to travel worldwide 80% of the time (on and offshore).
  • Legally authorized to work in the USA and eligible to work across the border, such as in Canada, Europe, and Mexico
  • Valid work authorization in the country of employment. The employer is unable to sponsor work authorization for this role at any time.

Responsibilities

  • Perform other related duties as required.
