About The Position

NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking a Field Site Inspector to support construction and infrastructure projects throughout the Naples, Florida metropolitan statistical area. This role is well-suited for a self-motivated, independent professional with hands-on site experience and the ability to read and interpret site plans. While prior utilities or formal inspection experience is beneficial, NOVA is primarily seeking a candidate with strong site exposure, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently in the field. The selected individual will be trained and assigned based on project needs and strengths.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret site plans and basic construction documents.
  • Experience performing site work or field-based construction-related work.
  • Familiarity with roadway, drainage, utility, and site development construction.
  • Working knowledge of construction inspection practices, materials, and methods.
  • Ability to work independently in the field with minimal supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify construction deficiencies.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with mobile inspection tools, tablets, and basic computer applications.
  • Willingness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to pass pre-employment screening requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior utilities or formal inspection experience is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with site development, roadway, drainage, and utility construction is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical field site inspections for construction activities including site development, roadways, drainage, utilities, and related infrastructure.
  • Verify that construction activities comply with approved site plans, specifications, permits, codes, and applicable regulations.
  • Read, interpret, and apply construction drawings, site plans, and technical documents in the field.
  • Document inspection activities, observations, and deficiencies using written reports, photographs, and electronic inspection systems.
  • Communicate inspection findings professionally with contractors, engineers, project managers, and public agency representatives.
  • Observe construction methods, materials, sequencing, and general progress to confirm conformance with project requirements.
  • Identify non-conforming work and assist with tracking corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate daily inspection records in accordance with NOVA and client requirements.
  • Support project closeout documentation and related tasks as needed.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by NOVA project management.
