About The Position

This position is responsible for the repair of construction machines, component assemblies, and parts in the shop and field. This includes diagnosing issues, ordering parts, writing technical and warranty reports, maintaining company assets, and communicating effectively with others.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
  • Associate Degree in Diesel or Equipment Technology or four (4) Years of apprenticeship experience
  • Technician Classification is based on experience, knowledge, and competence

Responsibilities

  • Develop a repair plan and sequence for equipment and components.
  • Determine necessary parts, materials, and tooling for repairs.
  • Perform repairs safely and with proper quality assurance testing of the repaired component, system, or machine.
  • Maintain and complete all necessary reports legibly and in a timely fashion for parts ordering, special tooling usage, daily service reports, and work order closure.
  • Communicate repair progress with the direct supervisor as required.
  • Retrieve and return parts and/or materials through the Company’s parts ordering system.
  • Retrieve and return special tools through the Company’s Tool Room.
  • Maintain proper care and use of special tools and major shop equipment (e.g., air compressor, cleaning tanks, overhead and jib cranes).
  • Use Company vehicle, service truck, and fuel cards properly.
  • Maintain work area and/or service vehicle in a safe and clean manner.
  • Maintain tools and tool carrier in a safe, productive, and updated manner.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Observe all safety guidelines.
  • Perform other tasks as requested by manager.
