About The Position

The Field Services Support Representative will provide mobile hydraulic repair of Hydraulic hoses on site offered by Hydraulic Supply Company to current and new clientele, fulfill client orders and perform services at customer locations. This role involves diagnosing hydraulic leaks, replacing hoses, communicating with customers to understand and meet their needs, demonstrating product utility, ensuring customer satisfaction, and promoting additional sales opportunities. The representative will also report on sales activities, develop new business leads, perform field service work, identify and assemble hydraulic hose components, conduct on-site POS activities, and collaborate with local branch staff. After-hours service may also be required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Five years of related work experience preferred.
  • Sales experience preferred but not required.
  • Experience with or aptitude for hydraulic hose & fittings identification and assembly.
  • Familiarity with shop tools and equipment.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Sales and negotiation skills.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and, at times, stressful environment.
  • Ability to adapt to a variety of industrial work environments.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, P21, CRM or similar software.
  • Demonstrate use of safety equipment properly and consistently.
  • Meet qualifications to drive a company vehicle, including a clean driving record.
  • Possess natural ability to understand and work with machinery.
  • Demonstrate exemplary work ethic.
  • Ability to work well independently and in a team environment when needed.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose Hydraulic leaks and replace leaking hoses on site.
  • Communicate with customers to identify and fulfill their product or service needs.
  • Demonstrate the functions and utility of products or services to customers.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction through ongoing communication and relationship management.
  • Resolve any issues that may arise post-sale.
  • Maintain communication with existing and previous customers, alerting them of new products, services, and enhancements.
  • Promote additional sales opportunities, including retail sales (oil, etc.) and field service work.
  • Report sales activities, including calls, orders, sales, lost business, and customer/vendor relationship problems, to the Sales Manager.
  • Develop leads and opportunities for new hydraulic hose assembly sales through daily direct market solicitation of industrial and mobile equipment customers.
  • Perform field service work in removal and re-installation of leaking hose assemblies on customer industrial and mobile equipment.
  • Identify, source, and assemble hydraulic and industrial hose components into hose assemblies.
  • Perform safe assembly of industrial and hydraulic hose assemblies through the crimping process.
  • Conduct POS activity for customers on site through mobile van equipment.
  • Answer customer questions and offer recommendations.
  • Work closely with local HSC Branch Manager and support staff to ensure a smooth operational flow of production and inventory needs.
  • Perform other duties as directed and assigned by Management.
  • Perform after-hours service for customers as needed.
