This position requires daily travel to locations in and around the Kenner Louisiana area, including the airport. The Field Service Technician troubleshoots, services, installs (deploys), and repairs Trace, X-Ray, CT X-Ray, and Cargo Inspection equipment at customer sites. They maintain a field service log and filing system to properly initiate, organize, and maintain all field service and job files until work is completed. This role demonstrates initiative and dedication through positive use of downtime and an overall willingness and eagerness to consistently exceed customer and company requirements. The technician conducts follow-up calls with the customer to ensure satisfaction of work, is responsible for meeting daily service repair needs, and drives customer satisfaction. They foster positive customer relations and a high degree of customer satisfaction by communicating effectively with customers. The role involves installing, repairing, and maintaining equipment in the field, and providing customer training as required. The technician must be able to respond to emergency and non-scheduled calls for service within established response time goals and complete all scheduled maintenance within required deadlines, documenting all inspections, maintenance, and repair work and submitting paperwork in a timely basis. They will order, install, and return parts, manage repair parts cycle time, and maintain an accurate inventory of parts and tools. Maintaining currency on all technical certifications is crucial. The technician reviews all logs for open issues and prepares formal reports to customers as necessary. They participate in Service Sales opportunities and assist with promoting and implementing revenue programs. The role involves seeking knowledge growth and support from senior level Field Service Technicians when needed. Ensuring that tools and test equipment are properly maintained and calibrated is essential. The technician assesses product/equipment performance based on field support data and recommends modifications or improvements. They seek to provide technical support to customers and other service professionals as required. Participation in site surveys, pilot program service activities, attending meetings, championing special projects, and preparing exclusive reports may also be part of the role. The position requires a solid level of technical knowledge on the company’s Trace and X-Ray technologies. Maintaining clear and concise business communication proficiency, both oral and written, is necessary. Establishing and maintaining a close relationship with senior level Field Service Technicians and Product Managers is important to support customer needs and stay aware of current technical trends. The role requires exercising every available measure to control and minimize costs while maximizing revenue. Submission of expenses, time cards, and other administrative tasks within specified timelines is mandatory. Travel, overtime, and work hours other than Monday-Friday may be required. Compliance with and ensuring department compliance with Company health, safety, and environmental policies, as well as all applicable U.S. export control and security regulations, is required. Other duties as required.
