About The Position

Lynkwell field service technicians are responsible for ensuring our Electric Vehicle (EV) charging stations are performing optimally. Most days will be spent visiting sites, inspecting systems, and working closely with the Customer Support team to resolve technical issues completely. Attention to detail, strong troubleshooting skills, the ability to problem solve, good communication, and a mind for safety, are all required skills for this position. The Field Service Technicians spend the majority of their time working on-site; significant driving across the state is part of the job, and a dedication to taking the best possible care of our customers is essential. Safety - for our team, our customers, and their property - is our primary priority. Field Service Technicians are expected to follow all safety protocols.

Requirements

  • 2 years of related work experience (solar, EV chargers, uninterrupted power supply, UPS, batteries, high voltage, inverters)
  • Basic understanding of electrical issue troubleshooting.
  • Ability to pinpoint the source of the issue and create an effective solution to resolve the issue.
  • Ability to operate basic hand tools and electrical measurement devices
  • Must be able to solve problems on the fly and working in an unstructured environment
  • Must be capable of critical thinking and possess the ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems
  • Must be fine with traveling up to 95% of the time. Travel may include last minute location changes, weekends, night of hotel bookings, etc. Experience with this a plus.
  • Must be fine with working in the elements. This is an outdoor job that is rain, snow, or sunshine.
  • Well rounded skills in electrical, computers, nuts and bolts, and related
  • Self-motivated and capable of working effectively without direct supervision
  • Must be capable of interacting with site hosts and the general public in a professional and courteous manner
  • Must be capable of critical thinking and possess the ability to solve complex mechanical and electrical problems

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshooting to identify root cause of problems affecting the operation of various hardware
  • Remove and replace defective components
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as required on a monthly, quarterly and/or annual basis
  • On occasion, interface with customers and EV drivers to understand details of reported problems
  • Perform remote diagnostic tasks as needed prior to traveling to EV charging station locations
  • Analyze charger performance via review of various reporting portals
  • Extensive travel and working in the elements.
  • Having a high focus on safety and customer service.
