About The Position

Flogistix, LP, a company specializing in wellhead and VRU compression, is hiring a Field Service Technician for the Vernal/Roosevelt, Utah area. The technician maintains and optimizes wellhead and VRU compression equipment to support performance, reliability, and safety. The role involves inspecting and diagnosing natural gas compression units, conducting routine and complex repairs, maintaining equipment and inventory, resolving customer issues, and documenting work. The position reports to the Area/Field Service Manager. Daily field travel may be up to 75% or more; the role requires outdoor work and occasional on-call availability, including nights and weekends. This is a safety-sensitive position.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Familiarity with various natural gas compression units.
Ability to occasionally operate small portable cranes or lifting devices.
Basic knowledge of multimeter use to diagnose electrical issues.
Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to diagnose functionality issues.
Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
Commitment to ongoing learning and ability to adapt to new technology.
Reliability and dependability, including ability to work all shifts and arrive on time.
Responsible and safe driving and adherence to Flogistix safety procedures.
Ability to work outdoors and travel in the field daily, up to 75% of the time or more.
Ability to stand, sit, walk, kneel, stoop, use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Occasional ability to climb or balance.
Availability for occasional on-call work, which may include weekends and nights.

Nice To Haves

3–5 years of experience in reciprocating or screw compression.
Proficiency with General Motors 4.3L and 5.7L engines; experience with Cummins 8.3 and 855 engines.
Knowledge of other engines such as CAT.
Basic computer knowledge and experience with automation controls.
Knowledge of 24VDC control panels and 4–20mA systems.
Process Technology or Instrumentation background.
Familiarity with AI.

Responsibilities

Follow Flogistix and customer-specific safety procedures and maintain a safety-conscious work environment.
Build and assemble equipment or mechanical components according to specifications.
Track truck inventory and accurately charge out parts.
Maintain a clean work environment and properly care for the company vehicle and specialty tools.
Perform routine maintenance, including oil changes, filter and spark plug replacements, and CNG engine tuning.
Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, equipment, and systems; replenish fluids and components; and clean and lubricate machinery.
Complete complex repairs involving CNG fuel systems, engine components, and vehicle systems.
Inspect natural gas compression units and run diagnostic tests to identify functionality issues.
Conduct repairs to maximize reliability and efficiency and keep assigned units operating properly.
Troubleshoot reported problems and implement timely resolutions.
Conduct emissions tests to ensure CNG compressors meet local and federal standards.
Resolve customer issues involving rental and purchased equipment.
Keep detailed work logs and report issues.
Participate in training to stay current on compression technology.
Contribute to a positive, relationship-building work environment with coworkers, customers, management, and other departments.
Perform other duties as assigned.
