Field Service Technician
About The Position
Crown Equipment Corporation, a global leader in lift truck manufacturing, provides extensive local support through its worldwide manufacturing facilities and retail locations. The company's sales and service network offers a local resource for material handling equipment, fleet management, warehouse products, and support services. This Field Service Technician role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing various lift trucks, performing scheduled maintenance, managing a service van and its inventory, and completing necessary paperwork for each job.
Requirements
- Less than 2 years related experience
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license, good driving record, and ability to safely operate lift trucks.
Nice To Haves
- Good mechanical and electrical aptitudes, knowledge of electrical/electronic systems and hydraulics and internal combustion engines, and the ability to read and understand electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Good written/verbal communication and customer care skills.
- Technical degree, previous lift truck repair, welding experience, and knowledge of various types of testing equipment preferred.
- Familiar with tools and equipment such as common hand tools, electrical/air tools, torch, arc welder and various types of testing equipment.
- Industry related training is preferred
- Ability to read and understand service manuals, plan, and follow-through
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair Crown and all other makes of lift trucks.
- Perform all assigned planned maintenance on customer lift trucks.
- Maintain a service van and its inventory.
- Process paperwork after completion of each job.
