Generator Field Service Technician
About The Position
Energy Systems, a leader in industrial power solution sales, service, and rentals, is seeking a Generator Field Service Technician. As a full-service distributor of Generac equipment, we provide sales, service, and rentals. This role is responsible for on-site troubleshooting, repair, warranty/campaign service, preventative maintenance, and equipment modifications of Generac industrial products. The position requires 100% travel with a fleet vehicle provided, but no overnight travel is anticipated. While overtime is not promised or required, management may necessitate additional help during major storms and outages for after-hours calls beyond the regular on-call schedule.
Requirements
- Working knowledge of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, connection diagrams, and control systems.
- Understand components and operation of an electrical distribution and transfer switch system.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to make independent decisions.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, in occasionally adverse outdoor weather conditions.
- Experienced in Electronics, Electromechanical Technology.
- Knowledge of power generation; light tower, products Spark Ignited and Compression ignition internal combustion engine knowledge.
- High School Diploma.
- 3-4 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS).
- Generac Industrial certification and related maintenance, startup and troubleshooting competencies.
- Competitive brand industrial repair proficiency.
- Load bank loading and towing and related certifications are required for larger commercial and industrial units.
Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree in Marine, Ag, Construction, Automotive technical programs, or Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
- 6 years servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS).
