About The Position

Miller Welding Automation is looking for a qualified Flexible/Fixed Robotic Field Service Technician who can provide excellent customer service while troubleshooting robotic/collaborative welding systems and providing application assistance during robotic welding system installs. This job requires the individual to work and solve problems with little or no immediate supervision. Candidates will be required to live in the Chicago Metropolitan region.

Requirements

  • Associate Degree in Electronics, Electro-Mechanical Technology or equivalent experience in service, trouble shooting, or “Break/Fix” situations.
  • Strength in customer service with demonstrated troubleshooting skills required
  • Good computer skills utilizing Microsoft Office
  • Candidate must be willing to travel when necessary; at times this could be short notice
  • Must be a self-starter, proactive, a good team player, and possess the ability to make independent decisions and follow through to completion
  • Good communication and listening skills are extremely important

Nice To Haves

  • Welding systems product knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Handling phone calls relating to the service, repair, and application of the product
  • Create service reports
  • Repair and testing of robotic welding equipment in the field
  • Communicate via phone and online platforms to troubleshoot remotely with collaborative robot customers
  • Support the marketing and training teams with content development (e.g. troubleshooting or “How-To” videos) to improve customer experience
  • Travel to customer locations for technical support, repairs and installations of robotic welding systems
  • Utilization of good oral and written communication skills to work professionally with customers within the guidelines of Miller Welding Automation
