About The Position

You will serve as a specialized technician responsible for installing and repairing automatic and fire-rated  doors within major medical facilities. You will work with a high degree of autonomy, supported by a  company that provides the tools, technology, and training necessary for your long-term career growth. You will perform field repairs, installation, framework, and hardware per NFPA 80, NFPA 105, and the  IBC (International Building Code) standards.

Requirements

  • Experience with installing fire-rated doors, or commercial frames and hardware. 
  • AAADM certified or willing to reinstate
  • Highly motivated self-starter with strong listening skills, capable of meeting deadlines and  working independently
  • Proficient in using smartphones, tablets, computers, and Microsoft Office to report daily  progress to Operations Support.
  • Demonstrate ability to complete on-site emergency troubleshooting.
  • Consistently exhibits strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Strong client-facing and internal communication skills, with excellent written and verbal abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Calendar.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of tools, including maintenance and calibration  requirements.
  • Minimum two (2) years of carpentry, construction or automatic door experience required.
  • High School Diploma/GED preferred
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must possess an unrestricted and valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Must pass drug screen, criminal background check and driver’s license check.

Responsibilities

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of commercial door systems, including automatic  sliding, swinging, and sensor-activated doors.
  • Install and repair fire-rated doors to ensure healthcare facilities remain compliant with safety  codes, including NFPA 80, NFPA 105, and IBC standards.
  • Perform repair of fire door frames, locksets, latches, closers, strike plates, miscellaneous door  and frame hardware and material to bring up to code requirements.
  • Document incomplete repairs and accurately capture specifications for required hardware  orders.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of reports to support customer code compliance.
  • Maintain professional, timely communication with customers prior to and following projects. 
  • Read, interpret and follow NFPA codes and Joint Commission accreditation requirements.
  • Establish plan of action for door replacement through facilities in a time efficient manner.
  • Ability to interpret Life Safety drawings and independently navigate facilities with minimal  supervision.
  • Administer proper infectious control measures per hospital requirements.
  • Other duties as assigned. (Support other service lines)
