About The Position

The company is seeking a Diesel Field Service Technician to be based out of Pompano Beach, FL. This role involves servicing Diesel Pumps at various Xylem and customer sites in the surrounding area. The technician will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel pumps and their associated electrical and mechanical components at customer sites and Xylem Service Centers, as well as providing phone support. Equipment-specific training will be provided, and applicants with prior experience in diesel, mechanical, and electrical equipment are encouraged to apply.

Requirements

  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Valid driver’s license with good driving record
  • Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, MVR check, and DOT physical
  • Experience working with diesel systems, or a combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position
  • General diesel engine component location and identification
  • Basic mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to diagnose basic mechanical problems
  • General DC electric and circuit testing skills
  • Knowledge of and adherence to safety practices and procedures
  • Ability to work independently with little or no supervision; self-motivated and self-directed
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, co-workers and managers both verbally and in writing

Nice To Haves

  • Class B CDL preferred
  • Ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues--preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of diesel pumps and their corresponding electrical and mechanical components at various customer sites and Xylem Service Centers in the Pompano Beach area
  • Provide phone support when applicable
