We are seeking a Navy Nuke (EMN, MMN, or ETN) to transition into an entry-level Commissioning Agent (CxA) engineer. The role involves assisting with onsite commissioning plans, gathering specifications, and executing assignments in a multidisciplinary engineering commissioning role for large facility projects. The commissioning agent follows a rigorous quality management (QM/QA/QC) process to validate and document client systems. Commissioning methodology covers a wide range of procedures to verify the integrity and performance of customer mission-critical support infrastructure. The data centers they support operate 24x7x365, requiring solutions that ensure 99.999% uptime. Requirements

  • Previous experience in the Military / Military veterans in all branches with Electrical / Mechanical experience is a plus.
  • Navy Nuke Program experience (EMN, ETN, MMNs) is preferred.
  • Consideration for all military branches with technical MEP experience.
  • Relevant technical knowledge and practical experience of Critical Facilities Operations with Electrical and Mechanical / HVAC equipment such as: UPS, Generators, Switchgears, PDUs, CRAC Units, DC Power Systems, CRAH Units, Chillers, Air handling units, computer grade cooling systems, CRAH Units, DC Power Systems, and building monitoring/control systems.
  • Must have experience in operating, troubleshooting, and maintenance of Mission Critical (e.g., Submarines) Mechanical and/or Electrical Support Systems.
  • Experience working with various computer systems and applications.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (this role requires heavy amount of writing, documentation, and client interaction).
  • Electrical equipment testing experience in a Critical Facilities / facility environment.
  • Possess basic knowledge of systems design for various projects.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Microsoft Project.

Nice To Haves

  • Navy Nuke Trained / Naval Nuclear Training.
  • Seabees; Army - Power Generation; Air Force – Power Production, Generator Techs, Maritime, Coast Guard experience.
  • Data Center Facilities Operations Experience.
  • A/E experience working in complex facilities or mission critical projects.
  • Previous experience conducting Level 1-5 Commissioning.

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and run diagnostics on critical facilities equipment within the data center.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance and emergency repairs on critical facilities equipment within the data center as specified and on schedule.
  • Participate in the preparation of analyses and reports on the data center infrastructure.
  • Develop project plans and conduct briefings and presentations.
  • Operate and perform annual service on a variety of state-of-the-art critical systems, including medium voltage switchgear, diesel generators, paralleling switchboards, UPS, PDU, mechanical heat rejection systems, computer room air handlers, fire detection/suppression, and building monitoring systems.
  • Ensure that operational, maintenance, and emergency methods of procedure (MOPs and SOPs) are developed and strictly adhered to.
  • Review schematics and one-line diagrams when servicing equipment within the facility.
  • Provide reliability, energy efficiency, and sustainable design by offering power quality audits, infrared thermography, load studies, short circuit studies, and preventative maintenance.
