About The Position

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues on diesel engines, overhead cranes, hoists, and elevators. The role involves inspecting various lifting equipment to ensure safety and compliance with industry standards, performing scheduled preventive maintenance, and evaluating and recommending repairs. The technician will also service existing accounts, document all service actions, and maintain customer confidence through prompt and effective service. Additionally, the role requires maintaining company equipment and tools, managing inventory stock levels, and creating proposals for repair opportunities. Keeping training credentials up-to-date is also a key responsibility.

Requirements

  • Must possess the ability to read electrical schematics and troubleshoot 460 vac 3 phase electrical motors and controls circuitry.
  • Must be able to travel to Orlando as dictated by service & customer needs.
  • Must be comfortable working at certain heights.
  • Must own electricians hand tools, quality electrical test meter, and steel toed boots.
  • Prospective candidates must: have a valid driver’s license with clean record, currently possess, or can immediately secure, a valid TWIC card.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test, physical, and background check (including MVR).

Nice To Haves

  • Technical Education Certification preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect Lever/Hand Chain hoists, fall protection, and rigging to ensure safety and compliance with Mfg, OSHA and ANSI standards. Stay current on applicable standards.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, estimate, repair, and proof load test.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance activities.
  • Evaluate and make recommendations regarding repairs.
  • Service existing accounts by analyzing work orders; planning daily schedule; coordinating work orders by priority.
  • Document service and installation actions by completing forms, reports, and inspection checklist, manual and digital.
  • Builds and maintain customer confidence by maintaining a good response time, informing sales of problems, and completing the job in a timely manner.
  • Maintain all company equipment and tools in compliance with the manufacture’s recommendations and certifications, i.e. vehicle, forklifts, man lifts, operating machinery, etc.
  • Responsible for keeping a proper stock level of inventory of stock items.
  • Create and formalize information for proposals of all replacement and repair opportunities and forward to the Service Branch Manager for next steps.
