Requirements

  • 3+ years experience in one of the following: LMR, RF systems, Radio Communications, Radio Frequency, Motorola equipment, Wired/Wireless Communication Systems, IT Systems, Telecommunications, Public Safety, Engineering, Networking equipment or Military experience.
  • Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely.
  • Must be able to obtain the necessary background clearance as required by government customers.

  • Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record.
  • Highly computer literate with proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access.
  • Strong self-management skills and 'people' skills.
  • Self-motivated and self-managed to perform duties at a distance from direct supervision.
  • Must be able to solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.

Nice To Haves

  • Unique combinations of both multi-site RF communications systems and/or computer/networking skills are preferred.
  • Experience with one or more of the following: LMR, RF systems, RF interfaces, wired/wireless communication systems or networking equipment.
  • Security+, CompTIA, or related certificate is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize and support complex communication systems.
  • Provide technical support for specialized systems and product applications, including troubleshooting software-driven electronics.
  • Provision communication system infrastructure.
  • Optimize performance of RF and Broadband architecture, including legacy analog, advanced digital P25, and data infrastructure.
  • Maintain, optimize, test, and document complex communications systems.
  • Provide weekly reports of activities and accomplishments.
  • Perform maintenance of server hardware/OS and software infrastructure, and troubleshoot system/application issues.
  • Perform preventative maintenance routines to ensure proper system operation, focusing on trend analysis and documentation.
  • Develop solutions to technical problems encountered during system maintenance, upgrades, or support.
  • Engage in continuous training on the latest technologies and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Collaborate with engineering, project management, and sales personnel to maintain, optimize, and support advanced communication systems.
  • Deliver strong knowledge of wired communication systems (LAN/WAN), including installation, configuration, and maintenance of cabling, routers, switches, firewalls, and bridges.
  • Apply knowledge of R.F. systems, including transmitters, receivers, and antenna networks.
  • Utilize knowledge in standard telephony and dedicated data circuits, as well as packet switching techniques.
  • Work closely with Motorola's customers and subcontractor community, as well as Motorola Sales, Engineering, Project Management, and customer service teams.
  • Solve customer problems quickly during stressful situations.
