About The Position

The Field Service Technician will be responsible for performing preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on engines. This role requires prior mechanical experience, the ability to use diagnostic and hand tools, and interpret technical diagrams. The technician will also need strong computer skills, excellent communication abilities, and a willingness to travel and work in various conditions. A customer service mindset and the ability to work independently are essential.

Requirements

  • Prior mechanical experience (automotive, power generation, heavy equipment, or diesel engines)
  • Experience using tools (including diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools)
  • Ability to read, interpret safety documents, schematics, and other mechanical diagrams
  • Experience in troubleshooting and repairs of an engine
  • Ability to work well as part of a team
  • Willingness to work in non-climate-controlled conditions
  • Ability to travel including overnight travel
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and desire to succeed
  • Ability to communicate via telephone & email
  • +7 years’ experience in a technical role or extensive years of experience with issue resolution exposure within (Field-) Service on engines (ideally INNIO Jenbacher engines)
  • Technical attitude, complemented by strong business acumen including basic IT skills
  • Willingness to work in shift model (depending) and on call
  • Experience working with electrical or mechanical systems
  • Fluency in English
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills experienced in customer communications
  • Boundaryless and multi-culture working mindset and team player
  • Able to work efficiently without direct supervision

Nice To Haves

  • Multi-working experience with Jenbacher gas engines in the field, operational & commissioning, all engine types
  • Jenbacher training certifications: FTB, FTA, CT1, CT2, MR6
  • Mechanical RCA research and analysis exposure
  • Previous field experience
