Requirements

  • Strong background in Mechanical, Electrical (AC/DC), or Millwright trades
  • Ability to read and interpret gauges, schematics, and control systems
  • Skilled in troubleshooting digital, electrical, pneumatic, and mechanical systems
  • Proficient in using measurement tools and testing equipment
  • Solid communication and teamwork skills—serving as the face of GEA onsite
  • Organized and professional with strong customer service ethics
  • Comfortable in a high-travel, hands-on field service environment
  • A bachelors degree from the University of Wisconsin Madison or equivalent is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years working with mechanical equipment
  • Extensive Travel, up to 75%
  • Ability to work up to 12 hours at times
  • Availability for occasional weekend work
  • Understanding of Hand Tools and mechanical techniques
  • Computer Literate
  • Some technical writing skills
  • Ability to read Schematics, Diagrams and Technical manuals
  • Must be able to function well, in an unsupervised position
  • Must have a valid driver license
  • Must be able to discuss technically complex issues with non-technical persons
  • Good organizational skills, particularly on site, are critical

Responsibilities

  • Travel to customer sites to perform preventive maintenance and emergency service
  • Performs new machine installation, commissioning and customer training
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical issues and communicate effectively with customers
  • Ensures customer satisfaction through high quality service levels, prompt execution and customer follow up
  • Acts in a professional, courteous and business-like manner to enhance the company in the market place
  • Install, commission, troubleshoot, service, and repair GEA and third-party equipment
  • Perform preventive maintenance, upgrades, and audits onsite
  • Ensure work is done per GEA SOPs, safety standards, and deadlines
  • Support service sales with leads and customer relationship management
  • Provide technical direction and customer training when needed
  • Maintain accurate documentation and service reports
