The Field Service Technician performs field installation, servicing, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of surface wellhead systems and Vault Pressure Control equipment. The role includes assembling and repairing new, remanufactured, and customer-owned equipment, coordinating installation activities, investigating and resolving reported technical problems, and helping prevent future service difficulties. Technicians work independently to complete installations and repairs while minimizing customer rig downtime, controlling expenses, and maintaining company assets. The position is primarily based in a home-based workshop, with visits to customer locations and possible overtime, work for other company divisions, extensive travel, and extended stays at other company locations. Duties may also take place in a shop during training or when not assigned to service jobs. While on a scheduled shift, the technician provides field service on a 24-hour on-call basis for existing and new customers. The technician communicates with company representatives about job procedures and spare-parts needs; records critical dimensions; obtains and reviews product assembly and running procedures; and ensures the correct equipment and tooling are shipped to service locations. After jobs, the technician submits field service orders and required reports and completes a tally book or other forms documenting procedures, spare parts, dimensions, and customer questions or complaints. Work must comply with VPC EHS and quality processes and procedures. Medical benefits begin on day one.
