About The Position

The Field Service Technician at Diebold Nixdorf is responsible for installing, debugging, and providing technical maintenance for product and component hardware and software, primarily at customer locations. This role involves performing scheduled inspections, cleaning, and other services, as well as conducting minor product repairs within an assigned territory. The technician will inspect products for correct operation, resolve issues, or escalate them as per established procedures. Key duties include scheduling services, completing all necessary paperwork, and ensuring customer satisfaction with service delivery and understanding of product functionality.

Requirements

  • Education or equivalent work experience required.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience in Field Services.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Driver's license and driving record that satisfies DN's fleet requirements.
  • PC literacy and good knowledge and application of the relevant tools and methods.
  • Ability to attend training classes in Canton, Ohio for 1-2 weeks (paid training, multiple trainings).
  • Ability to lift and move heavy loads, stand most of the day, climb, bend and stoop while working on equipment.
  • Acceptance of exposure to the outside elements.
  • Shift adaptability, which would include an on-call rotation for evenings and weekends.
  • Exceptional customer service skills are needed.
  • Ability to organize and inventory truck stock parts and tools.
  • Sense of urgency, organizational skills, professional presence and work in team environment.
  • Ability to pass MVR, background and drug test where required.

Nice To Haves

  • Product knowledge of relevant industry and basic ITIL skills preferred.
  • Firstline Service Technician work experience preferred.
  • Vocational/Trade School preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Gains familiarity with Field Service Technician practices and procedures.
  • Utilizes diagnostic tools to perform troubleshooting via detailed analysis of hardware and software failures.
  • Performs hardware repairs on a component level.
  • Cleans and adjusts mechanical components.
  • Configures and installs applicable software.
  • Performs routine checks according to documented procedures.
  • Refills consumables as directed.
  • Installs, moves, adds, changes and removes hardware and software products (IMAC/R).
  • Instructs and trains customers on usage and operation of installed hardware and software.
  • Participates in regular hardware and software trainings (on the job, classroom and web based).
  • Participates in the implementation of measures to achieve agreed KPIs.
  • Assists with special projects as assigned.
