Essential Functions of this role: As a customer-focused technical product expert, the Technicians will apply highly developed troubleshooting, mechanical and electrical skills, and sound knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control systems to install and maintaining processing & packaging machinery. Additional tasks include providing preventive maintenance and on-site equipment repair. Job Duties include but are not limited to: Travel 80% (Mon-Fri) away from home visiting food plants primarily in the Southwest Region of the country but may travel beyond the territory as required. After training travel will reduce to 60-70% (Mon-Fri) Read diagrams, schematic drawings, engineering specifications and service manuals to determine work procedures. Engage with customers on site, analyze equipment performance, troubleshoot to isolate problems, and determine actions needed to restore system to performance specifications. Share information with team members, customers, and your supervisor to help prioritize and keep customer apprised of corrective actions and equipment status. Inform customers of routine preventive maintenance techniques. Participate as necessary in new projects to install or improve the safety and performance of existing and new equipment.

Requirements

  • Five (5) plus years of maintenance experience -- servicing, troubleshooting and repair of electro-mechanical automated machinery
  • 60-70% travel during the week (Mon-Fri) during training, 60-70% travel after training
  • Travel to the islands will be required for this opportunity
  • Initiative, critical thinking, complex problem solving, judgement and decision making, persistence, attention to detail, adaptability, flexibility, concern for others and leadership
  • Must be able to sit for long periods on airplane or in an auto to reach job destinations
  • Must be able to have manual dexterity to operate equipment and tools required on the job
  • Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
  • Must be able to quickly respond (with the hand, finger or foot) to a signal (sound, light, picture) when it appears
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs

Nice To Haves

  • Experience of maintenance, installation, service and diagnosing issues/repairs on automated food processing and packaging machinery is preferred
  • Practical application of mechanical and electrical engineering principles and techniques to ensure equipment performance at manufacturers specifications
  • Advanced knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic power systems, conveyor systems, or control systems
  • Food Processing or Packaging Machinery experience is desired
  • Bilingual English-Spanish skills is desired
