About The Position

Battlefield Equipment Rentals (a division of Toromont Industries Ltd.), one of
Canada’s premiere Construction Rental Companies, has an immediate requirement
for a Field Service Technician (Unlicensed) at our Halifax location. Our busy,
team-oriented shops place a strong emphasis on customer satisfaction. The
service department is an important area of our business, ensuring that our
equipment is ready and available, as well as maintaining a flow of information
on that equipment for both the rental staff and the sales staff.

Requirements

• Participate in safe workplace safety, environmentally sound behaviors and practices at all times in support of Battlefield’s health and safety policy programs and initiatives
• Extensive background and knowledge of construction equipment and the necessary parts and services to maintain and repair
• Hands-on experience in troubleshooting and repairs
• Existing knowledge of the service/maintenance requirements for all types of construction equipment including Genie, Skyjack and CAT
• Ability to work independently, skilled in time management and organization
• Supervisory experience and previous leadership experience
• Adaptable to on-call work schedules and willing to work to meet the demands of the business
• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Cat systems (ET and SIS would be considered beneficial)
• A customer-centric and positive attitude; good communication skills
• A valid G-class driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract is mandatory
• Applicant must be able to perform heavy lifting; as heavy lifting will be required frequently
• Your own tools are required

• Strong computer skills and familiarity with Cat systems (ET and SIS would be considered beneficial)

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections on equipment on job site
• Ensure parts are ordered in a timely manner
• Maneuver efficiently and effectively within the region in all traffic situations
• Provide excellent customer relations in a fast-paced
• Adaptable to on-call work schedules and willing to work in all weather conditions
• Ensure vehicle is maintained and organized
• Perform other duties as assigned.
