Requirements

  • 5 or more years of relevant testing experience.
  • Proficient in using tools and testing equipment, including Megger, digital multimeter, Hi-Pot tester, Oil Dielectric strength tester, multiamps relay tester, primary & secondary injection set, cable fault detector, and oscilloscope.
  • At least 3 years of experience operating a vehicle with a valid, unrestricted driver’s license.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, operating manuals and safety guidelines.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, overtime and weekends as required.
  • Willingness to be on call.

Responsibilities

  • Perform testing and maintenance on low, medium and high voltage power distribution equipment for commercial and industrial clients.
  • Assist with leading teams in the field.
  • Perform testing and calibrations on Instrument Transformers, Power Transformers (Doble, Insulation Resistance, Transformer Turns Ratio - TTR), Cable testing (Power Factor, Tan Delta, VLF, Hipot), Circuit breakers & Switchgear (low, medium & high voltage), Primary & Secondary Injection Testing, Protective Relays (electro-mechanical and solid state), Continuity, Ground Fault, and Power Quality.
  • Troubleshoot, inspect, perform start-ups, and collect data on switchgear, circuit breakers, cables, transformers, protective relays, VFDs, and ATS.
  • Perform service and repair including inspections, diagnosis of issues, replacing parts, making recommendations, and recommissioning.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols including LOTO.
  • Contribute to a strong team environment by assisting teammates in accomplishing mutual goals.
  • Communicate all information to customers in a way they understand the issues & resolutions.
  • Complete reports on the work completed.
  • Perform NETA or NICET standards as required.
