About The Position

Bartelt Packaging, a ProMach Company, is seeking a Field Service Technician to join its team. This role involves traveling to customer sites to repair, maintain, and start up Bartelt Packaging equipment. The Field Service Technician acts as a communication link between the customer and the company, ensuring excellent customer service. The position requires installation, integration, repair, and troubleshooting of complex flexible machinery, demanding a high level of technical skill and independent problem-solving. Responsibilities include ensuring specifications are met, directing customer personnel during installations and servicing, and potentially customizing machine programs. The role may also involve on-call status for technical telephone support and providing factory floor support when not traveling. Additionally, the technician will train customers on equipment operation and service, and assist with aftermarket parts needs in the field.

Requirements

Technical, Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years experience in machinery repair.
Knowledge/skills of mechanical principles.
Willingness to travel extensively within the US and, from time to time, internationally.
Good communication & interpersonal skills.
Strong customer service focus.
Proficiency in Windows & MS software (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent customer service skills; ability to train customer personnel on equipment.

Nice To Haves

Experience in flexible packaging material machinery.
PLC programming experience.
Familiarity with PLC/PC systems.

Responsibilities

Travel to customer sites to repair, maintain, and start-up specified Bartelt Packaging equipment.
Provide a communication link between the customer and the Company to provide excellent customer service.
Perform installation, integration, repair, and troubleshooting of flexible machinery of a complex design.
Ensure all established inspection, testing, quality, and operating specifications are met.
Direct and/or oversee customer's personnel during plant machinery installations and integrations or servicing (repair and/or troubleshooting).
Provide on-site customizing of machine programs by revising programs to meet customer needs.
Maintain a 24-hour on-call status and provide customer technical telephone support.
Provide factory floor support when not providing customer field service support/travel.
Provide customer training regarding the operation & service of our machinery.
Assist customers with aftermarket parts needs while in the field.
