The Field Service Technician will install and service instrumentation with minimum direct supervision, as requested, by the Service Center in accordance with current ISO and GMP standards. This role involves providing follow-up service by calling customers who have recently been provided service, accurately maintaining car stock inventory, test equipment, tools, and technical data. The technician will also complete service documentation as required, maintain expense levels within established guidelines, and report quality control and other technical problems in detail to the Service Center and System Support Engineering Manager. Additionally, the role requires accurate maintenance and utilization of a company vehicle, effective interface with other departments and managers to resolve customer problems, and accountability for providing support that meets BD standards of outstanding quality service. The technician will also be accountable for company-issued credit cards, travel advances, company vehicle, and trunk stock of spare and repair parts. As a representative of BD, the technician will promote and maintain good customer relations through high standards of personal appearance, ethical behavior, maturity, and good judgment. The territory includes Philadelphia, Upstate NY, NJ, and the NY Metro Area. This position involves approximately 60% travel with 1-2 overnight stays per week.
