About The Position

This role is for a Field Support Technician with a strong understanding of networking concepts, particularly in an Operational Technology (OT) environment within manufacturing. The technician will be responsible for supporting manufacturing equipment that connects to the network and IT infrastructure. The role involves troubleshooting issues, working with users, managing ServiceNow tickets, and handling new hire setups and machine builds. A significant portion of the role (70%) will focus on networking, with the remaining 30% on desktop support. The technician will primarily work within the plant, supporting approximately 350 users and 300-500 endpoints across four locations, with two requiring remote support.

Requirements

Understanding of networking concepts and fundamentals.
Knowledge of VLANs, IP addressing, firewall rules, DHCP, and DNS.
Experience with Windows 11/Desktops.
Troubleshooting skills.
Excellent customer service and communication skills.
Ability to be dynamic and take initiative.
Must have steel toe shoes/boots.
A few years of experience is required.

Nice To Haves

Net+ certification.
Manufacturing experience.
Experience with OT (Operational Technology).

Responsibilities

Understand and troubleshoot Operational Technology (OT) environments, including PLCs and manufacturing equipment connected to the network.
Provide support for networking components and fundamentals, including understanding VLANs, IP addressing, firewall rules, DHCP, DNS, and LAN segmentation.
Perform desktop support for Windows 11 environments.
Troubleshoot print server issues.
Manage Zebra scanners controlled by MDM.
Handle new hire setups and machine builds.
Work with users to resolve technical issues.
Manage and update ServiceNow tickets.
Identify the nature of an issue and route it to the appropriate support team.
Provide remote support for two of the four company locations.
