About The Position

We are seeking a Field Service Technician Trainee based out of our branch office in Tacoma, WA. As a Service Technician Trainee, you will create an Exceptional Client Experience while you learn to perform onsite repair and installation assistance on a variety of dental equipment. Developing your skills in client relationship building and positive communication, along with your technical skills, are key to success in this role. This is a hands-on training position that will be learning how to troubleshoot, repair, and install dental equipment. You will deliver equipment to jobsites and clients offices when needed to support the team and operational needs. The Service Tech Trainee requires strong technical aptitude for mechanical systems, exceptional customer service skills, and the ability to quickly gain proficiency in technical skills.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Ability to travel by car to client offices, meetings, trainings, and events as assigned.
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license.
  • Maintain a good driving record (as defined by Burkhart’s liability insurance).
  • Be insurable at all times.
  • Drive a variety of vehicles, none of which require special commercial licensing.
  • Strong technical aptitude for mechanical systems.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Ability to quickly gain proficiency in technical skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training in mechanics, electronics, pneumatics, and/or hydraulics.
  • Military technical training.

Responsibilities

  • Perform onsite repair and installation assistance on a variety of dental equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and install dental equipment.
  • Deliver equipment to jobsites and clients offices when needed to support the team and operational needs.
  • Develop skills in client relationship building and positive communication.
  • Complete daily tasks in a timely and thorough manner, ensuring all activities, records, data, and processes are kept highly organized, accurate, and up-to-date.
  • Communicate exceptionally well with team, branch associates, clients, and others.
  • Support collaboration between sales and service.
  • Keep everyone in the loop.
  • Go above and beyond to provide an Exceptional Client Experience.
  • Work efficiently to meet deadlines, performance and productivity standards.
  • Independently manage workload.
  • Perform complex repairs and installations with a minimal call back rate.
  • Actively seek out learning opportunities to grow knowledge and experience.

  • Demonstrate continuous learning in the role.
