This position involves performing service repairs and preventive maintenance, while providing superior service and representing Altorfer’s professional image. Key aspects include accurately completing all service reports, inspection checklists, and timecards, as well as communicating any extra time needed for tasks to the dispatcher. Technicians must be proficient in using SIS, ET, parts, and service manuals, and capable of properly segmenting jobs and ordering parts. The role requires returning unneeded parts promptly, completing warranty documentation, and sending follow-up forms in a timely manner. Effective communication with customers and office personnel regarding job status is essential. The technician is expected to work efficiently at customer jobsites, in the shop, and while traveling. In-depth electrical, hydraulic, and power train troubleshooting using prescribed tools and documentation is a core responsibility. Maintaining Altorfer-supplied tooling and equipment, including a company service vehicle, is also required. Technicians may need to arrange special parts to minimize downtime, perform general mechanical work, and stay current with industry standards. A high level of customer satisfaction, excellent work ethic, neat appearance, and good communication skills are paramount, with the technician taking full ownership of their work. Adherence to safe working practices is mandatory, and the technician must maintain a Class “B” CDL.
