Shermco Industries is seeking transitioning Active Duty service members for our DoW SkillBridge NETA Field Service Technician Training Program. This opportunity is designed for service members with backgrounds in electrical systems, power generation and distribution, electronics, controls, instrumentation, maintenance, or other related technical fields who are interested in transitioning their military experience into a civilian career in electrical testing and power systems. As a SkillBridge participant, you will train alongside experienced Shermco Field Service Technicians at industrial and commercial customer sites. Participants will gain hands-on exposure to the inspection, testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and commissioning of low-, medium-, and high-voltage electrical systems ranging from 480V to 600kV. This program is designed to build upon the technical skills, troubleshooting ability, safety mindset, discipline, and field experience developed during military service while providing industry-specific training for a career in electrical testing. Prior NETA certification or electrical testing experience is not required. For selected participants, Shermco will provide one-way transportation to the approved training/work location and lodging during the SkillBridge training period. The goal of the program is to transition successful participants into full-time Field Service Technician opportunities with Shermco upon completion of SkillBridge. Employment following SkillBridge is not guaranteed and is based on successful program completion, performance, qualifications, and business needs.
