About The Position

Norican Group is seeking a Field Service Technician specializing in Industrial Furnace Equipment. This role involves providing comprehensive mechanical, electrical, and technical support to customers for commissioning, installation, inspection, maintenance, service, repair, and upgrades of melt and dosing furnaces and foundry equipment. The ideal candidate will be proficient in all physical aspects of the job, proactive in problem-solving, and dedicated to maintaining optimal equipment performance and customer relationships.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Three to seven years related experience.
  • Valid Driver's License with good driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook).
  • Willingness to train and learn the AX ERP system.
  • Electrical, Mechanical, PLC, Pneumatic and Hydraulic knowledge and aptitude required.
  • PLC Programming: PLC & HMI Programming in Allen Bradley and Siemens (to Service tech standard).
  • Proficient in blueprint reading and interpretation.
  • Understanding of basic Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) terminology.
  • Must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Provide/Perform commissioning and technical service, maintenance, repairs and start-ups of all types of StrikoWestofen equipment
  • Perform regular maintenance checks on equipment to prevent issues and ensure optimal performance.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions, determine appropriate solutions, and make necessary mechanical and electrical repairs or replacements.
  • Provide technical training, guidance, and support to customers, explaining equipment usage and maintenance, and fostering customer relationships.
  • Document all service activities, including repairs, maintenance, and customer interactions.
  • Comply with all Norican’s Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) requirements and other applicable federal, state, and local EHS requirements.
  • Supervise projects and contractors as needed.
  • Complete continuous education and certifications to maintain up-to-date technical knowledge of equipment lines.
