About The Position

We’re looking for Field Service Technicians with a strong electrical background to support inspection, maintenance, and testing activities across client sites. This role requires a self-starter who can operate independently, communicate effectively with clients, and deliver high-quality technical service in the field. Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in power systems or industrial maintenance
  • Experience with low voltage multimeter and non-contact voltage meter
  • Experience with medium voltage safety standards including arc flash boundary and grounding
  • Computer literate, with experience using digital reporting systems and field tools
  • Comfortable in client-facing environments with professional communication skills
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrated self-starter with strong problem-solving capability
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% across the continental U.S.
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Available for extended and irregular hours as needed
  • Able to work outdoors in all weather, at heights (100+ ft), in confined spaces, and around high-voltage equipment and heavy machinery
  • Physically capable of lifting 50+ lbs and enduring extended physical activity
  • Valid driver’s license and legal authorization to work in the United States
  • Able to pass background checks and pre-employment/random drug screenings
  • Willing to complete required safety training (including travel, if necessary)
  • Requires good vision, hearing, and English proficiency for safe, effective communication in noisy environments

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with NETA testing standards and field practices
  • Experience with transformer inspection, maintenance, or testing
  • Prior field service or mission-critical facility experience (data centers, utilities, industrial sites)
  • Strong documentation and reporting skills

Responsibilities

  • Perform transformer inspections in accordance with established procedures
  • Conduct transformer maintenance and minor repair activities
  • Support medium and low voltage electrical apparatus testing, per NETA specifications
  • Coordinate warranty support activities between clients and equipment manufacturers
  • Manage and coordinate site access for field technicians and service personnel
  • Identify, document, and report equipment issues within client-provided reporting systems
  • Interface directly with clients in a professional, solutions-oriented manner
  • Keep accurate reports, logs, and equipment calibration records
  • Follow all RMS Energy and site safety procedures (Lockout/Tagout, PPE, JHA)
