Field Service Technician II - West Columbia, SC
About The Position
The Field Service Technician II will perform functions related to product readiness for patient utilization on a wide range of rental and customer owned medical products. This role involves cleaning, disinfecting, operational function checks, and minor repairs of Baxter and non-Baxter products. The position requires operating a fleet vehicle in a safe manner and includes direct customer contact. Additionally, the Field Service Technician II will provide 24/7 delivery, removal, and service support for products in service centers and customer accounts in a timely and professional manner, ensuring support during critical moments when patients and healthcare professionals need it.
Requirements
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience
- Valid driver's license and driving record
- Basic mathematical skills – addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
- Responsible for adhering to Hill-Rom Safety Procedures.
- Must wear personal protective equipment including but not limited to safety shoes, eye protection, gloves, and protective clothing.
- Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.
- Unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Responsibilities
- Performs electronic, hydraulic and pneumatic systems troubleshooting and repair of assigned products.
- Troubleshoots devices and repairs any malfunctioning components.
- Uses appropriate tools for adjustments and repairs.
- Provides on-call coverage, up to a 24/7 basis including weekends and holidays, which may require customer account visits.
- Loads, unloads, and removes medical products, weighing up to 1680 pounds.
- Generates service revenue and completes activities required under service contract.
- Safely operates box truck vehicle or company car ranging in size from a cargo van up to a 26,000 pound truck.
- Performs cleaning, disinfecting, operational function checks, and minor repairs of Baxter and non-Baxter products.
- Operates a fleet vehicle in a safe manner.
- Provides direct customer contact.
- Provides 24/7 delivery, removal, and service support for products in service centers and customer accounts.
